They moved into this one-bedroom apartment in a former 19th-century paper mill turned pickle factory (and later a co-op) three years ago when they gut-renovated the place to expose hidden details and add their own personal touches.

What’s the story behind our testing process? We definitely have fun with it.

In addition to our formal procedures, we test products in our own homes, so we’re sure they will perform in yours. Our buyers take pride in searching out the best problem solvers made. And when it comes to product testing, everyone at Solutions gets involved—including our creative and marketing teams. Even some of our team member’s kids put various toys to the test.

We all look forward to our Thursday meeting when our buyers bring out new products. It’s like our very own “show and tell.” They educate us on each product, pass it around, and decide who would be the best person to test it. We get giddy

The first in the forthcoming ‘Light Snack’ series aims to highligh the little pleasures in life, and elevates the status of the humble Jammy Dodger, so that each little glowing biccy becomes one sparkling crystal component in a grand and glamorous chandelier . The huge light sculpture drips with 1500 inedible fancies in milk white, translucent bone china and vivid pink jammy resin.

The repetitive task of casting and firing each jammy dodger then painstakingly applying the jammy resin took around 10 weeks.

Future additions to the Light Snack range will include pastel marbled ‘Party Rings’, sugary little ‘Iced Gems’, and, a personal favorite of mine, the sickly sweet ‘Pink Wafer’. Watch this spac Get more info…

Sew for the Love of It Contest

September is National Sewing Month, a tradition which began in the early 1980s. This year the American Sewing Guild is holding the Sew for the Love of It contest in honor of the month long celebration.

Entries will be taken online beginning August 10 and must be submitted by midnight September 30, 2011. Sew anything that you like, be it a garment, home décor or any thing else. The only stipulation is that it must have a heart somewhere in the design. See the contest page for more details.
